Now that I have been sent home from work, along with most of the country, what am I going to do with all this time?  Since photography is my hobby why not take pictures every day during this time of isolation (while practicing good social distancing, of course). I plan on posting here my thoughts and photographs during this crisis.  While I may not update this blog each day, I hope to get a post in every few days.

Day 1: Well today is the first full day of my social distancing confinement. Fitting that it is St. Patrick's day. A day that requires pinching anyone not wearing green.  I feel pretty safe knowing that no one will get close enough to even know what the color of my shirt is (BTW it is green). My wife and I plan on walking every evening during this crisis.  Last night our outing took us to the Ramona Grassland Preserve.  A wonderful 4000 acre preserve in Ramona, a small town in the foothills of the costal mountain range of San Diego.  The Grasslands have plenty of scenic vistas, hiking trails and wildlife.  We saw the resident bald eagles (too far off to get a good photo) a coyote and a red-tailed Hawk. Overall a good start to our plan to make the best out of a very scary crisis in our world today.

I will not make light of the COVID-19 pandemic.  It is real and very threatening to our world.  I pray that we can use this time to come together as a nation and as a world to defeat this common enemy.  There is no space for partisanship, nor any space for bickering among nations.  We are one planet and one people, united for a common cause.  At the end of this crisis I pray that God blesses the whole earth.  I leave you today with this thought (from the Gospel according to Matthew).

Matthew 6:25-34 Jesus says:

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.®)
